Colenso
General Information
Colenso is situated on the banks of the Thukela River in the foothills of the magnificent Drakensberg Mountains. The town previously formed part of a Commando Drift before being named Colenso after the first Bishop of Natal, John William Colenso. Colenso still retains its old-world charm devoid of commercialisation, although has all the amenities that visitors would need for a luxury holiday.
Forming part of the Kwa-Zulu Natal Battlefield route, Colenso has many historical offerings. Visiting the sites that commemorate these form part of the towns main attractions.
